I (Jean Marc) am from Orp-Jauche in Brabant Wallon and Geneviève is from here in Hoeilaart. We met in 2003 and lived in Huldenberg in a house with in the garden, 4 greenhouses, the owner being a former “serrist” (Fons G.) Initially, I planted vegetables in the garden, then, I became interested in greenhouses, and from discussions to discussions with Fons, I began to take an interest in greenhouses and their structures, in vines and their fruits (these succulent grapes from the “Grape Region”). I started working at Colruyt d’Overijse in 09/2007 and I followed training to become an oenologist and sommelier in Leuven (Heverlee); as well as training within Colruyt where I became Wine Advisor in their branch in Overijse

a hobby that becomes a passion : the viticulture greenhouse in hoeilaart

One beautiful Saturday in September 2011 after a good meal (homemade mussels) at my wife’s best friend (A.) in Hoeilaart, we started dessert and a discussion about greenhouse and grapes from which emerged: if I wanted to use the greenhouse located at A.’s mother, this could be done on condition of restoring it according to the standards, and with known materials (tiles, vlekskes, mastic, etc.) The actual restoration started the next morning. (opposite a photo gallery of the renovation +/- 2 years). Greenhouse 26 meters long by 8.5 meters wide with 15 windows (ventilators). The first vines were delivered at the end of February 2012 with European passports (opposite some photos). In mid-April 2012, the leaves began to appear on the new vines of Royal and Baidor (plants grafted on rootstocks). In 2013, “Early grapes from Overijse” (Vroege van Overijse) (2 plants) completed the plantation.
